Area rugs have a very long history. People have been using different types of area rugs for ages. It is believed that area rugs have originated from somewhere in Asia. Some people say that the first example of area rus was made in Persia while other are sure that this has happend in Mongolia. Whoever is right the only thing we can be sure is that area rugs have originated from South Central Asia. Area rugs are available in great variety of sizes, shapes and colors. But one of the major things that define the quality of your rug is the material it is made of. Most of the area rugs that produced nowadays are made of wool. But there are some area rugs that are made of cotton or even animal hair. Area rugs made of cotton are much softier then others but that means that they are less durable. And adding some animal hair in yor area rugs will give them a very nice shine. For a longer durability area rugs have to be made of wool, and for even more longer lives that has to be a long wearing wool rather then soft(the one that is used for making wool sweaters). The appearance of the area rugs also depends on its color and design. Thanks to great achivements in technology of synthetic dyes and dyeing process area rug can have almost any color-tone and design. |
